Fetal Heartbeat

During my previous pregnancy, my gynea was super efficient so when I went for check ups, he'll just tell me that baby is growing well and off we'll go. This time round, the lady explained in detail on the screen what we're looking at and I was shown my baby with a very clear pulsating heart right in the middle! It was soooo cool! Makes me just wanna praise God:

Psa. 139:13-14
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

The gynea prescribed some meds to help with the severe nausea and it worked only half the time. But even then, I'm grateful for the short reprieve from being a total invalid. Nowadays I just feel so useless. Joshua said that maybe because I'm too capable when I wasn't pregnant that's why God allowed me to be useless during pregnancy to balance out my capacity to that of a normal person...

Yah, right. So funny.

Christmas night out

Even though the mere thought of stepping out of the house seems like a monstrous task to me now (I just feel soooo sick), I've wanted to show Joash the Orchard Christmas lights since he likes shiny things so much. So I dragged myself to Orchard Swensons with Joshua and Joash for dinner. It was a nostalgic place for both Joshua and I since we went there very often while we were dating. Goodness! It has really been a long time since I've set foot in Orchard and was surprised by the amount of construction underway. All in all, I'm glad we had a reasonably good time there despite my discomforts.

Thank you, Lord, for your Son, the reason we celebrate Christmas and thank you, Lord, for my son who brings joy to me everyday!

Joash: Hmmm... which one should I order?

Me and the only thing I could stomach: Fries!!!

Joash: Yeah!!! This is so fun!

Orchard Christmas lights... nothing much this year actually :P

Joash: Wahhh.... so many sparkling things!

Joash and his new gimmick toy
For fellow "NARUTO" fans out there:
Don't you think it looks kinda like "Rasengan"? LOL

Joash: Mummy, mummy! That song is very nice!
Jaclyn: Yes, it sure is. It's about Jesus. :)

Just for laughs:
This was how Joash looked like last Christmas. He looked so different, so round and... erm... bald. Hahaha... and I happened to wear the same t-shirt too! Such a coincidence...

I'm pregnant again!

Yupz! Joshua and I "striked" the second month we tried for another kid. I actually wanted to share this on the blog only after we've seen the baby's heartbeat so as to confirm the viability of the pregnancy, you know, anything can happen. But then... Ahhhhhh... Whatever.

Anyway, with my bulging stomach and the stark reality of my morning sickness or should I say All Day Sickness, it's hard not for people around me to notice. I'm sure this is no news to most of you readers already.

The pregnancy test kit was really super power... It showed a clear plus sign even in week 3 of my pregnancy! I waited for two weeks before I saw a gynea and during the course of the two weeks, I ate soooo much! I had like five full meals a day. It gave me false hope that maybe this pregnancy will be easier for me cos I had severe nausea for 6 whole months while carrying Joash. But alas! The nausea and tiredness hit me like a ton of bricks last week.

During my first gynae visit two Fridays ago, we could see the 1.5 cm gestational sac and a small ring inside that might be the baby. This coming Friday we'll be going in again to check for fetus and heartbeat. Pls pray for us, yah?

Joshua had been such a darling. Thank God that he is having holidays so he could take a few day's leave to help me with Joash while I writhe in agony all day in bed. Not sure how I'll cope after his holiday ends though... Perhaps like what one of my friends said: "Just die and resurrect everyday" LOL

With my heightened sense of smell, I really wanna hurl every time I smell Joash's poo/saliva or cook his meals. Carrying him makes me dizzy after a while. I hardly ate anything anymore and I can only hang in there by the grace of God. I'm gagging and periodically puking even while typing this post.

For those of you whom I frequently visit in the past, you now know why I seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth. I seriously can't go out with Joash anymore and I'll have to take cabs to get to anywhere at all cos public transport is just impossible for me now. So I'll have to depend on your good auspices to visit me instead if we are to keep in touch. Only God knows how many months my condition will last. So long for now... *sobz*

Walking

This week, Joash has started to walk more than crawl to get around. Here's a video of his baby steps. Soooo cute!!! *swoon*

Central Mall again

Last Saturday, Joshua, Joash, my MIL and I went to Central Mall for dinner and we happened to come across the Circus on Ice's publicity performance. Since it was very crowded, Joshua had to put Joash on his shoulders so that the little chipmunk could see it all. Aren't they simply adorable together? So heart-warming to see father and son like this...

It was also very amusing to see Joash clapping his hands whenever the crowd gave the performers a round of applause. LOL I'm quite sure he knew nuts about what was happening and was simply following along. Here's a clip of it. *all smiles*

Baby Steps

These days, Joash has progressed to taking his first few tentative steps. ;)

During last Sunday's service, we brought Joash to the 13-30 mths toddler's room (we have been in the infant cry room all these while) for the first time since he is finally of age. All the kids there can walk so Joash seemed like the odd one out esp when he is the youngest there. But he didn't seemed disturbed by it and enjoyed himself thoroughly although he refused to follow along during the sing-a-long session. I hope that he'll join in the activity as he gets used to it.

7th tooth emerging

It's been almost 3 months since the last batch of teeth came out. :)
