Maturing

My husband was the first to notice it. The change has been so gradual and subtle that I didn't realise that Jayna has started combing her hair together with me in front of the mirror after bath time. She does not need me to comb her hair for her anymore. My girl is growing up!

Jayna is not the only one making progress. Jaide has started becoming very good at entertaining her younger brother. You can watch the video below to see her in action. Not so many months ago, she was just a baby herself. Now, she is a respectable older sister to Joram.

Sometimes, it's hard to look beyond the small-mindedness, high pitch whining and irrationality that are commonly associated with raising little girls, especially when you face them on a daily basis. However, it takes epiphanic moments such as these to appreciate the maturing that happens right under your nose. I look forward to reaping the rewards of love and time invested in my daughters; the many sweet girly things I can do with just the two of them when they are older.
