Self-feeding

Jayna has started feeding herself during the entire dinner! Praise God! Previously, her control was rather "off" so meal times were pretty chaotic. I had to keep cleaning up and eventually take over the feeding when it looked like she was getting frustrated at herself. Now, she's more confident and far less messy.

It's a tremendous relief to me since it has been a horror feeding her. She had stopped spitting out food more than a months ago (Thankfully!) but her indecisiveness and picky eating habits made feeding her a torture. She would insist on a particular morsel of food and would scream when I got the wrong piece, even if it were the same type of food. Also, she kept changing her mind about the food she wanted at the last moment, just as the spoon approached her month. To her, the grass is always greener on the other side. The food had to come from the main bowl or from someone's elses' plate, mostly mine. So for the longest time, she had been eating from the same utensils as me.

I pray that this will be the end of my feeding woes as she can now choose what to scoop into her mouth herself. Keep it up, Jayna!

Here's a video to chart her growth. :)
